Into the Wild(flowers)

I didn’t know this would become a series; all I knew is that I wanted to paint a bear with a flower crown on an aqua background.

But after finishing, I knew I wasn’t done. The passage the Lord gave me for this bear comes from Proverbs 31 verse 25:
She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.
As I stared into those sweet golden eyes, I sensed the strength and dignity part, but what about “laughing at the days to come?” And so started the fox.

At peace, a little gleeful. But then, I kept thinking about a bunny. I don’t know why, but I started looking for bunny pictures until I came across one kind of like this little gal, munching away on her lunch. It made me laugh, so I knew it was perfect.

I decided to design the piece so the rabbit would be eating its own floral wreath, clearly not giving two snaps if someone cares. If it makes you laugh, then we are moving in the right direction of “laughing at the days to come”.
Of course the deepest reason we can “laugh at the days to come” is because we know Whose we are and who we are in Him, but I have to think that He tucks His humor all over creation to catch our eye and bring us joy.
“…A merry heart has a continual feast” (Prov. 15:15)
