In process with a short story illustration commission. Having so much fun with this project. Will start on paper, then add texture/color digitally with my fav #procreate app.

It’s an honor to be the featured artist at @newhollandcoffee for the month of May. Beautiful space and delicious food/coffee (best sweet potato fries I have ever had!) 🔥❤️

All I knew is that I wanted to paint a tiger. I decided to start with a (semi) dark background and just dove in, no plan in place other than having a reference picture of a tiger with an expression I loved. The background started filling in, and though I loved things about it at each stage, I kept painting over it, as it didn’t feel right for it’s intended recipient (revealed to be my friend once I started painting!). And it wasn’t until I had finished painting that I had the idea to photograph it and add things digitally via my procreate app. I’m so happy with the result—the idea of painting with acrylics and then adding things digitally is fascinating to me. Definitely going to keep playing around with the concept!

WILD. isn’t it true that sometimes wildness looks like doing the thing least expected? Or should I say least expected by the world? The ways of man?

When I have a lot of orders to fill, I don’t like holing up in my studio because I miss my peoples! It often takes a bit longer when I’m out in the middle of the (mostly?) happy chaos, but it’s worth it. My littlest of four “helping” me with one of my puppy ornaments. ❤️❤️❤️

I tried so hard to share my process here with voiceover but my app keeps glitching and I lost it all twice haha (also 😤) so here’s some nice music and progress pictures 😅.
