He’s not afraid. He’s not anxious. He knows the outcome. And He’s coming for you.
It’s time to breakout.
Def’n: A violent or forceful break from a restraining condition or situation; especially: a military attack to break from encirclement.
Encirclement is a military term for the situation when a force or target is isolated and surrounded by enemy forces.
Yeah, I know what that feels like. I mean…our enemy…this beast who wanted to be like God–or rather wanted to BE Him–and was cast out of heaven for his rebellion…he hates us. He hates that God loves us. He hates that we look more like Him every day. Hates His mercy for us and how He killed Himself (through Jesus) to make us His again.
And so without relent he comes after us. He is the father of lies. He comes to steal, kill and destroy. Isolation is one of his biggest tactics. Get the sheep alone and away from the flock and encircle it.
And we cry. And things hurt. The deep wounds bleed and the old wounds ache. And in our pain we want to withdraw.
“No one wants to deal with this mess.”
“It’s easier not to talk about it.”
And we starve in that place. Our soul cries out because we have forsaken the fountain of living waters and have hewed out cisterns for ourselves, broken cisterns that can hold no water. (Jeremiah 2:13)
No wonder we’re thirsty.
Let Him break you out of that encirclement of enemy lies and constructions that restrain and bind and muzzle you.
You see that mane of color? That crazy, wild, bold color?
That’s you. Those colors are His Faithfulness. His Joy. His Unrelenting Pursuit of our hearts. His Victory over that beast the devil. And when we let Him break us out of that place, we wear His colors; His victory is our victory.
And where you have broken out, you have the authority to show others the way to freedom. And there’s always more freedom.
You will create like never before. You will walk with purpose and freedom from the fear of man. Your spirit will be knit together with His–a bond not to be undone. He is not rattled by what rattles you, and thus can overcome and overpower it. You will have the COURAGE to do what you have not done before. As you press to the front of the crowd to touch the hem of His robe…you will receive your healing.
Is He fierce? Most certainly. But His tender eyes SEE YOU, and will do what it takes to protect and free us, if only we will let Him.
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the Lord will arise upon you. And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.” Isaiah 60:1-3
